Does this omega 3 fish oil have a fishy taste or any unpleasant burp back?

What about supplements that contain omega 3, 6 and 9?

Omega 9 is a non essential fatty acid that the human body can make if it needs to and most Americans get plenty of omega 9 in their diets. Are plant sources of omega 3 as good as marine sources?

NO! Plant source omega 3 is called Alpha-lenolenic acid (ALA) and it is very difficult for the human body to convert ALA to EPA and DHA . Some plant sources of ALA are flax, chia, hemp, walnuts and perilla. Only women of child baring age have to ability to convert small amounts of ALA to EPA and essentially no DHA in the process. Triglyceride form (rtg) Fish oil is the best way to get the health benefits of omega 3.

Are the over the counter inexpensive fish oils any good?

Remember the old saying “you get what you pay for”. Most OTC fish oils are a cheaper ethyl ester form of fish oil that is much cheaper to manufacture. This form is very unstable and can go rancid quickly causing an unpleasant taste and smell. Ethyl ester fish oils do not absorb as well as Triglyceride form and can cause some digestive issues. Most of the over the counter omega 3 fish oils have very low levels of EPA and DHA, the typical commercial brand will have 180 EPA and 120 DHA or less. This is no where near enough to get your omega index to the heart health levels above 8%.

How long does it take to get omega 3 to optimal levels.

Omega index studies show that in as little as 2 weeks omega index levels can get to the heart health zone when taking 2 Fortifeye Super Omega. It will usually take 2-3 months to get maximum cellular absorption that will make a positive impact on blood chemistries and your overall health.
